Kiana first found yoga in her early teen years as a way to compliment her athletic pursuits. Through the physical aspects that yoga offered her: flexibility, strength, and challenge, she soon fell in love with the practice. Self curiosity opened her eyes and soul to deeper parts of yoga, learning emotional and energetic peace and stability. Not only has this practice taught her how to slow down, recenter, and be present in the moment, it also shown her inner strength. Kiana began teaching Yoga in 2017 after graduating from her 200 hour yoga teacher training with her teachers Shanon Buffington and Charly Faulkner. Dedicated to expand her knowledge and share it with others, she is currently enrolled in Practice Yoga Austin's 300 hour advanced yoga teacher training working to achieve her 500 hour certification.
Kori first discovered Bikram and Baptiste power yoga in 2001, and then moved into other practices including vinyasa flow, yin and restorative. In 2012, after navigating the challenge of her husbands multiple deployments overseas, she decide to get her 200ERYT certification with Gioconda Parker as a means to deepen her personal practice and relieve stress. In 2013 she went on to get her certification as a “Relax and Renew” trainer with Judith Hansen Lasater, and became a “Warriors at Ease” teacher, using yoga as a tool for military-related trauma. She has been teaching since 2012 years and has continued to volunteer as a yoga instructor with military organizations including The American Widow Project and the Austin Veterans Center. She has a passion for helping people build a foundation for a steady practice and creating space for students to find their ease.
I met Jen when we practiced hot yoga together at another studio. I always admired her practice. I had no idea at the time that she was a certified teacher in not just yoga but also in Pilates. After opening and growing Soul Yoga I found myself in need of new teachers and discovered Jen's secret when she came to check out a class and told me that she had been teaching yoga and Pilates on and off for 15 years! I was thrilled then and I am even more thrilled now to have her in our family. Jen is the very definition of "dynamite in a small package". At first glance she is sweet and engaging and caring. She is also TOUGH! Her classes are challenging and creative but well instructed with years of experience behind her. Jen makes sure that you feel successful with her encouragement and positive attitude.
Yoga is many things. To me it is a vehicle that can aid you on the journey Home. Deep within each individual is an ocean of infinite love and deep within your heart there is no room for judgement, doubt, worry, anxiety or fear. When the mind becomes silent, we cleanse the mirror within us that reflects our inner light and compassion flows out into the world around us. This inner peace is not something that can be understood nor can it be learned. It can only be experienced. Once you experience this peace and love you realize its all you have ever wanted and the cosmic joke is you having had it since the beginning. It is HERE, NOW! "I" have come to the point in my journey where my only desire is to help guide others to the NOW. So thank you for being Here and "I" look forward sharing this beautiful experience with "You".
I have always enjoyed an active lifestyle; running, soccer, boxing, and hiking among a few activities. I found Hot Yoga in 2013 and loved the benefits it provided, both physically and mentally. My practice has expanded over the last six years as I moved across the country from California to Florida and now Texas. I am constantly striving to challenge myself and enjoy how each type of yoga brings something different to my life.
Finding Pilates however has been the biggest game changer to my life. For several years I had been dealing with constant back pain. As an active person this was frustrating and discouraging. Pilates helped me find not only the relief I needed but taught me how to really take care of my spine health, balance my body to prevent further injury and build the strength I need so I can continue doing the things I love. I can not wait to help others explore the Pilates discipline. To guide them in their journey for life long health.
I am the owner of the beautiful space that is Soul Yoga. I came to yoga by way of running when I discovered that yoga could keep me from having running related aches and pains. After a major injury I quit running and began to rely on yoga for my physical and emotional health. It wasn't long after beginning to practice 5-7 days a week that I discovered yoga was all that I needed to keep my body and mind in shape. I soon desired a more active role and so completed my 200 hour YTT with Zenspot Yoga Institute and began teaching in July of 2018. I opened this amazing place at the beginning of 2019 and I have the honor of facilitating growth and connections in every class I teach.
